Paul Vivian UCA Profile

Programme Director Fine Art & Photography (Farnham)

Paul Vivian works primarily with appropriated imagery in relation to an object or space, each aims to be a form of ‘stand-in’. The works are deliberately intended to be viewed as a kind of poor imitation, constructed as if somehow conscious of their own ability to disappoint. Recent solo shows include presentations of work at Art Gene, Barrow in Furness and A Space Southampton; in 2015 Paul was winner of the Wells Art Contemporary. In 2016 he presented work in a solo exhibition at 45 Park Lane, London and as part of a group exhibition of five artists with Copperfield Gallery, London.
