Professor of Photography

Anna Fox has been working in photography since 1983, she is Professor of Photography at The University for the Creative Arts in Farnham and was one of the co-organisers of Fast Forward; Women in Photography a conference at Tate Modern 2015. In 2010 Fox was shortlisted for the prestigious Deutsche Borse Photography Prize and in 2012 for the Pilar Citoler Prize.

Her work has been in numerous international group shows including: Warworks at The Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography and the Victoria & Albert Museum; Centre of the Universe; Liverpool and the Avant-Garde at Tate Liverpool, How We Are: Photographing Britain at Tate Britain, From Tarzan to Rambo at Tate Modern, Documentary Dilemmas and The Observers, both British Council touring exhibitions. Anna Fox Photographs 1983 ­ 2007 was published by Photoworks in 2007 and her retrospective exhibition Cockroach Diary and Other Stories followed with a European tour. Fox¹s latest books, Resort 1 and Resort 2, reveal the contemporary face of Butlin¹s holiday camp in Bognor Regis. Fox is committed to the development of international photography education, has assisted in the development of photography degree courses in India and is co editor of Langfords Basic Photography (Taylor Francis 2015) and Behind the Image (AVA Press 2011).
